Run training diary, week 12: Yay(ish)

Sometimes it’s the little promises you make to yourself that make your week.

“I will just get the maintenance runs during the week done, but I’m going to beat that bad 9-miler by a minute a mile.”

It was almost 16 minutes faster, in fact, a one-minute, 45-second improvement.

It still wasn’t fast, but it was a little ahead of my projected 3-hour half-marathon pace, so as I head into four weeks of peak mileage and (finally) cooling temperatures, I’m in pretty good shape.
