Happy anniversary, Roe
Today is the 23rd anniversary of the verdict in Roe v. Wade. Needless to say, it comes as Roe is under fire from many sides -- a Supreme Court that will soon be a 5-4 majority on Roe instead of 6-3; dangerous parental notification laws; violence at clinics; the shutting down of clinics. Decreased access to emergency contraception -- and chains like Target that support its pharmacists who refuse to dispence EC. Abstinence-only education.This is not an easy time to be a woman in this country.
I'm not going to say anything that hasn't been said here, or here, or here, or here (bye, Lauren, you'll be missed!). But this is an important issue, and it needs your attention.
